I got this only because it’s the top seller on Amazon, so I didn’t know anything about it beforehand. When I got it, I was surprised how big it is. It has an equally big sound, this thing will scare the pets and wake the neighbors. That’s partly because the rotating brush can’t be turned off, like in most vacuums that have a “hard floor” setting. Not only does that make it louder, but on my hardwood and tile floor apartment, the brushes throw a lot of debris around instead of sucking it up. As an example, I tried to use it to pick up spilled cat litter – BIG mistake, it threw the litter everywhere and I was cleaning up the mess for hours. The only way I can use this on my hard floors is by putting the flat head attachment on the extension wand and treating the unit as a canister.
It does come with a decent number of extensions and tools to make some jobs easier, which is the big reason I haven’t replaced it yet. And the bags are easy enough to swap out without making a mess. The power cord doesn’t have an automatic retractor, so expect to be babysitting the cord if you’re moving around a lot. It has a decent amount of weight to it, and is about as maneuverable as you’d expect from an upright.
This might be a good unit if you have a big house with wall to wall carpeting. For smaller spaces, or houses with more hard floors, this is not the best choice. And if you’re looking for a quiet worker, this is definitely not it.
