I truly loved this book, and found more meaning in it than any other I have ever read. It’s not about blowing you away with high minded concepts, it’s about clarifying what IS obviously true about existance. I’ve recommended it to several friends and some feel as I do, it was great and insightful, and others did not get anything from it. The ones who did not like it all have something in common, however. They are people who are not into thinking about thinking, philosophy and abstract concepts and have a truly open mind. They are good friends nonetheless, and I wish they could have seen more in the book that spoke to them. Like me, the friends who really ‘got the book’ are fairly excitied about what it illuminates and clarifies. To say this was an inspired work would be the understatement of the decade.
What can I tell you: GET IT, READ IT, draw your own conclusions. My conslusion: TRULY GREAT
One thing I should really point out: This is NOT a book about religion.

I finished reading this book, after having heard about it for at least a year. I must say I was a young bride in the sixties, engrossed in my life and not truly realizing what was taking place in our southern states. The book brought to me an invitation into their lives at that time. Fact or fiction I thank Ms Stockett for her story. I found myself apologizing, yes, for not truly having the knowledge I should have had. There were many heart warming stories, so many humorous parts I had to pause, lay the book down as I enjoyed what I had just read. When it was a time of horror I again found I had laid the book down while my mind and heart caught up with each other. I had to just pause and give myself time. I found myself laughing aloud and cheering for Abileen and the other black ladies and their strength and boldness they forced upon themselves. So proud of them was/am I and of dear Skeeter. The ending was good, many good things were happening all due to their bravery! … I thank the author for her having enlightening me to this particular part of life in the south. MWM

I have been using the Omron HJ 112 Digital Pocket Pedometer for a few weeks now and I am very happy with it. It easily slips into a pocket or clips to a waistband. It is easy to set up and easy to read. I like the way it resets itself to zero everyday. The instructions say you can put it in your purse. I haven’t done that because I am more active than my purse. The only improvement I would make is a back light so you could read it after evening walks.

I bought my first Kindle over two years ago and haven’t stopped congratulating myself on the great decision to purchase this fantastic device. I love being an early adopter of all kinds of new technology but the Kindle is so unique that I can’t even compare it to any other purchase. Other reviewers have listed all of the amazing capacities of the Kindle, so I will just list the aspects of my life that have been positively transformed by it:
1. I’m a college professor and I get to travel a lot. The possibility of carrying all of my books, articles, and dictionaries with me anywhere I go has been invaluable. I can work on preparing my courses on the beach, or on an airplane, or pretty much anywhere without having to surround myself with piles of books and papers.
2. An educator’s life is often pretty itinerant. Since I bought my Kindle, I have moved between different countries and different states 4 times. There is nothing more painful when moving than packing books. They weigh a ton, occupy a lot of space, and take forever to pack. Now that I have a Kindle, however, I don’t need to buy nearly as many paper books, so moving is much easier.
3. I have always envied people who can walk around with a nice-looking small handback, instead of lugging around a huge backpack willed with books and papers. Now, I go to work with a small, beautiful bag that contains my Kindle. Most of the books I discuss in class with my students are available for Kindle, so I don’t need to worry about leaving a book I need behind.
4. As a scholar of literature, I always underline many passages in every book I read. My Amazon Kindle page keeps all of those passages organized and ready for me to copy directly into the article I’m working on or into my class plan. This is saving me an incredible amount of time.
5. Kindle 2 has this great capacity to deliver my newspaper and magazine subscriptions when I travel overseas. You have to pay a little extra for that, but this service has definitely b

Although I’ve owned for only a couple of months, I would say that I am very pleased with my purchase. Exactly as advertised. I don’t normally use my GPS on a day to day basis and have used it for trips out of state and for new local destinations. It has performed flawlessly and others have commented positively as well. EZ to use.

Love this product!! Hoover is the best for Steam Cleaners. My previous Hoover steam cleaner lasted 12 years. I’ve researched the other steam cleaners and I think the Hoover is the easiest to use – not to mention how great it works. Also, I like to buy from Amazon because they always have free shipping on orders over $25.

We purchased this vacucum a little over a year ago. We had new carpet put in and I was impressed by how much fuzz it picked up. It seems to get a good amount of dirt as well. The only down side I found is the size of the bag. It fills up very quickly. I use my vaccum every other day and I have to change the bag once a month. However, I feel like it is cleaning really well, so I can live with purchasing the extra bags. I think this is a good vaccum for the price and I would buy it again.

My daughter’s multiple readings of the “Conversations with God” series was and is a major component and ally in what will definitely be her life-long struggle to “not pick up” drugs or alcohol. Who knows what may happen next but she has been sober for four years, and the series has visibly more than once rescued and maintained her sobriety. There will always be a copy for her in my house. She often gives hers to addicts she feels are trying to stop their habits.
I have a little problem with some of the author’s statements and wonder if sometimes he confused his own thoughts with statements from his conversations. For what the series has done for my daughter, however, this “minor disagreement” does not matter at all.
