I was looking for a reliable yet inexpensive watch. I settled on the 3 Casio watches that look like this and chose this one of the three. There’s the white faced, the black faced, and this one is the yellow faced w/24 hour numbering. (some pictures of this are over exposed. The face is what I’d call a yellowish wheat color. Quite nice.) All three likely have the same internal mechanism. My watch was unexpectedly light in weight which is a huge bonus in my book.

The band was cheap as hell, but I chose the “Watch Band Genuine Leather 16mm Black Classical Vegetable oil treated durable double stitched and padded with gold plated buckle” sold by Watchmaterial here on Amazon. Now I have a nice watch that looks like $1-200 bucks, and I’m out $20.

So, buy one of these el cheapo Casio watches, buy a 16mm (width) watch band to replace the really cheap band Casio sells with these, and you’ll look like $1-200 also. Plus, if you damage it or drop it in the toilet, just spend another $10. I’m considering buying the black one next. I might like that better. My educated guess is that I’ll get 5 years out of this one and will likely retire it when the cheap crystal gets too scratched.

I give this product Three Thumbs Up!!!

Works the same as other more expensive HDMI cables that I have. This just cost less. Sounds good to me.

I bought this book for a book group and we were supposed to read a few chapters a week. I finished it in 2 days. It has been great for group discussions.

Accurate. cool looking casual watch. easy to read analog time. month/day/date are digital and perpetual calendar so no need to adjust on short months as with analog watches – huge in my opinion. nylon/velcro strap much preferred to plastic.

resetting the time for d/s/t is quick if you hold down the button rather than clicking it many times

i don’t need a lighted dial but if that is important other reviews should be read.

the face/dial is actually a pleasant yellow-biege so i don’t know why it’s listed as white. the border with the minute dashes is white.

if the battery lasts anywhere near 10 years and the watch continues to function it will be the watch bargain of the century :)

I love that it automatically keeps track of your last 7 readings! There is a little cap on the top that came off. I eventually lost it. I’m not sure what purpose it serves, but everything works fine. The belt clip is short and allows the pedometer to fall off; make sure you clip it on to your clothing. Minor problems, but I still recommend the product.

I received a bad device and it had to be returned. Apple did replace it and I really hope that this one works okay. I have only had it back for 1 day now. Well let’s see what happens now.

The cable works out of the box. I use it to connect my PS3 to my screen. Nothing to complain. Great choice to save some bucks.

Catcher in the Rye has many relevant meanings for the teenagers of today. Holden Caufield’s confusions and frustrations are those of most teenagers who want to connect with other people and belong to a certain social quota. J.D Salinger presents to us a novel full of symbolism, imagery, and adolescent complexity that fufills it’s overall goals of giving us a glimpse into the life and psyche of a troubled and disturbed teenager who tries making connections with people he doesn’t know ending up in, as mean as this may sound, humorous failed attempts. The overall theme in this novel doesn’t comply any moral as did Ovid’s fables back in ancient Greece. Catcher in the Rye tends to be more interpretive in that manner. Holden’s inability to truly connect with people is due to his inability to immature and let go of pain.
“People never notice anything” (Pg 9). It’s in this quote that we really see what type of person Holden really is. Nobody around Holden seems to understand him, seems to understand his angers and confusions. Everyone is just as about as “phony as he is”. It’s in these beginning chapters we notice that something is wrong with Holden. something that doesn’t quite match up. He’s a white male with well-off parents that can afford to send him off to boarding school and he purposefully flunks out by not even attempting to study. It’s not until later on in the novel that we learn of James Castle and his brother Allie that there is a reason for this rebellion and personal wall that he has erected for himself. It’s how Holden breaks this wall that makes this book powerful and a very compelling and humorous read.
