Bought this after searching high and low for an audio version of Catcher in the Rye (it was the ONLY one I found). Very pleased to say that it was in excellent condition.
For students with learning challenges and people with vision issues, audio books are a great alternative. My hope is that audio format becomes more widely available.

I cannot fathom why anyone became famous, or wealthy, for writing this material… “The Catcher In The Rye” is one long, rambling, goofy, repetitive in the *extreme* diatribe…presented as an ode to Borderline Personality Disorder. It’s like page after page after page…of absolutely nothing. And at the end of it all, there is no pay off. There is no conclusion to the story. Don’t hope for one; it is not there.

Holden Caulfield gets kicked out of school (again), but he doesn’t do anything amazing with his time, except wander around for a weekend. He gets drunk, but he never really has much fun doing it. He picks up with a prostitute, but he gets no action. His creepy room mate dates his childhood friend, but nothing whatsoever comes of that either. His teacher cops a feel on him in the middle of the night, but the one he gets is really pretty silly to read about. He gets slapped around some, but never gets the stuffing knocked out of him, nor any sense knocked in. He gets sick toward the end, but he’s not suffering from anything major. And after 200 pages of terror over what his parents will think, you never actually hear what they have to say. All the reader knows is, Holden’s intelligence is upstaged by a 10 year old. Worst of all, after all of this whining & carrying on… Holden doesn’t come to any important new realizations about life, himself, or anyone else.

The realization I came to on the final page, is that just because a piece of writing is referred to as “a classic”, that does not mean it is particularly well written, or profoundly meaningful. J.D. Salinger wrote a relatively small collection of fiction, “The Catcher In The Rye” was his most “outstanding” writing, it was the hallmark of his life’s work, it became famous for some vague reason, & yet… It says nothing. I don’t know how it inspired 3 infamous stalker-killers to carry it around with them, when they went off to do their deeds… Personally, I would be embarrassed to hav

The only thing that I would say is a con is its size but it really does not cause any problems, actually its kind of nice because of the size of the screen it is easily read while running. I really like this tool it has helped me take my workout to the next level.

Wii game is lots of fun and exercise. It is very challenging.
Some of the games can be purchased for a lot less on E-bay if
you like bidding on things like in an auction. Be careful not to spend too much money on games like me. I got carried away and purchased about 25 games.
Many games are very difficult. This may cause frustration if you don’t have patience. Some games seem difficult until you figure out how to use the controls properly. Some don’t respond like they should.
Wii Winter sports skiing was a disaster. Maybe I need practice.
For exercise that brings fun into a work out, buy a Wii.
Many sports , Boxing, Baseball, bowling, Basketball, football. All good exercise that will get your heart pumping.
I got a good deal from Amazon.com for the Wii console. About $175.00 plus tax.
A better deal than I could get on e-bay.
When I first got the Wii, I was excited. Now I’m less excited because of the game difficulties. But I expect to use the Wii for exercise most of my life.

My 12-year old daughter read this book a dozen times, so I finally read it. I get it. Meyer came up with a tanatalizng storyline, the modern-day damsel in distress and the indestructible knight that lives only to protect and love her. Edward Cullen is an interesting character and some of Meyer’s new twists on vampires I found interesting because they weren’t so campy; and then throw in the love triangle and you’ve got every high school drama queen’s wet dream. Meyer has some memorable lines and the book is mostly diaglouge and easy to read. So I get it; I understand why it’s a global phenomenon.

Not well-written, though. The narrative is filler, for the most part, rather than adding to the story. Most of the story is TOLD to the reader in conversation. Again, my daughter loved the endless dialogue (”It’s my turn to ask questions.” “No, it’s my turn.”) but I found it tiresome. Lastly, too many beats and no one “said” anything, they all “murmured, lied, repeated, or pointed out”.

Agents and publishers are in the game to make money, I get that. Meyer put together a billion-dollar story that adults and children could both read and enjoy. I applaude her for that. But she can be a better writer. Maybe if I read her later work, I’ll find out she did.

A family gaming system that is O.K. With all the hype I was expecting more. Most games are geared towards little kids, which was to be expected. Why no HD? Many people that rate it 5 stars say “It’s the game play not graphics” I agree to a point, but in this day and age there is no excuse not to have HD and to me it only enhances the game play experience. And if it’s game play the’re worried about then I’m sorry to say that I have found few games I consider fun. The sports games are fun but the redundent motion gets old quick. The bowling is fun when having a party! For ages 4-9 and 50+. My wife likes it but I will stick with my 360.

I was looking for a good vacuum to pick up pet hair at a local department store and a young man who was there to also purchase a vacuum convinced me not to buy the $600 machine but to look at the Hoover Tempo Widepath. Unfortunately the store didn’t have the model so I went home, got on line, and found this model on Amazon just by typing in “Best vacuum for pet hair”. Since the reviews were fantastic, I bought two vacuums, belts, and bags. One is for my son and future daughter in law. We were all totally impressed by the suction of this machine, and have filled up several bags already! The only reasons for giving a 4 star rating is that I thought it had a full bag indicator on it and it didn’t, it is noisy, and the hose is very short. I would pick this vacuum over a $500-$600 model any day!!

I’m a competitive marathoner and moved up to this from an older model, 201 I think. Anyway, I use the product for long runs, tempo runs, and especially, interval training. My eyesight is fine, but the 305’s worst feature is the extremely small font makes it difficult read, especially when watching rest times, etc. for intervals. Weird, it tracks the pace ok when I’m running but often when I’m standing still it still shows a variable pace. Not overly impressed, will look for something besides a Garmin product next time although there aren’t a lot of choices.
