Teenager Holden Caulfield has just been expelled from yet another prep school for failing his classes and having a really bad attitude. Here he recounts his adventures and observations during a weekend on his own in New York City.

I remember being quite shocked at Holden’s anti-social thoughts and non-stop profanity and not liking him at all when I first read this book. It was a pleasure to reread it forty years later and find that my feelings for him had changed a lot; now I find him a bright, charming, and pitiable combination of the social misfit from “Napoleon Dynamite,” the angry young man from “Rebel Without a Cause,” and a bit of Eddie Haskell, too. His penchant for vulgarity and manic emotionality remind me of a scared puppy who’s all bark and no bite; he’s in desperate need of attention and affection and luckily, he gets it.

This classic character study of a troubled boy is highly recommended for mature readers.

As avid readers there are times when we are apt to encounter books that continue and linger in our minds once read. For me, “Water for Elephants” was a serendipitous find and I truly and lovingly enjoyed this novel. It’s one of those books that you never want to end. There is reason why this book has been on the NY Times bestseller list for more than 12 consecutive weeks. As many reviewers have already recounted the summary I will simply say just READ IT! I promise you will be searching for more of Sara Gruen’s novels. BTW, Apehouse is the next novel to be released!

Have been working with MS Works and MS Word Perfect and the old version of Word. Works is good but not that great. About the same for Word Perfect. 2007 version is going to take some getting used to but once I figure it all out, I’m sure I will love it. Amazon did a great job with the order. Once ordered it only took about 3 days and it arrived in very good condition. Amazon does a good job. Will continue using them.

What an over hyped piece of crap. I was supposed to have read this in high school but faked my way through it. Now I feel duped for wasting my time on it. The emperor has no clothes and this book sucks.

This pedometer is just what I was looking for! It’s easy to use and wear. Great addition to any fitness program at a reasonable price.

Good upgrade for older version of MS Office. I would like upgrade options, like MS Publisher as a add-on.

Overall the kindle is fast and enjoyable as an ereader, probably the best one in the market in terms or responsiveness and speed. But my big beef with it is it’s lack of a zoom feature when in regard to PDF files, the rotate button simply isn’t enough, also it be nice for it to come with either an expandable memory slot or a bit more memory for the sake of carrying audiobooks. But besides that when it came to purchasing ebooks and reading it was rather great.

I bought this pedometer and was immediately impressed with the accuracy. However, there are two problems that I find aggravating. First, the clip is not the right size, it should allow the pedometer to be tightly attached, not loosely attached at the top of the garment. Second, the pedometer resets to zero at least once a day. After a reset, the only way to get the total steps for that day is to go to the memory of the “previous” day. Of course, it is not the previous day, it is only the number of steps that were recorded before the pedometer reset itself.
